Chapter 26 (There can be only one result on a critical mission)

Valya Harkonnen’s recovery team returns to Wallach IX with the forbidden Rossak computers. Raquella isolates the school and clears the landing field so only trusted Sisters witness the transfer. Valya notes Raquella’s frailty but takes pride in proving herself through the mission’s success and sees the machines as tools to shape the Sisterhood’s future.

In the repurposed underground bunkers, Raquella, Fielle, and select Sisters reassemble and activate the components. Fielle coolly emphasizes their value for planning breeding maps, while Olivia reunites with her. Valya recognizes the team’s loyalty and begins cultivating them as her core allies, inviting Fielle and Olivia to meet her sister Tula, aligning friendship with political unity.

Granted access, Valya and Tula work side by side at dual terminals, combing the restored breeding database. While Valya balances her ambition to lead the Sisterhood with her vendetta against Vorian Atreides, the sisters covertly mask their search trails as they probe Atreides lineage markers across centuries.

They dismiss ancient branches and focus on recent, emotionally potent targets. Records show Vorian’s lovers and descendants across worlds—sketchy notes on a child from Hagal, formal acknowledgment of a Kepler family with multiple children, and, crucially, a Caladan line with sons Estes and Kagin. Kagin’s descendants include present-day brothers Willem and Orry Atreides.

Seeing the brothers’ images, Valya envisions revenge by wounding Vorian through his legacy. She resolves to weaponize the Sisterhood’s secrets and influence, concluding with a directive to Tula: go to Caladan and strike at the Atreides bloodline.
