Chapter 67 (The happiest moments can be a heartbeat away from the saddest)

Vorian Atreides grows comfortable on Caladan, savoring its peace and planning to support his descendants. He attends the outdoor wedding of Orry Atreides and the mysterious Tula Veil, admiring the ceremony while noting Tula’s beauty and a flicker of hostility he cannot place.

During the vows, Tula promises Orry a secret family gift to be revealed privately. After a joyful reception, the newlyweds depart early to their cottage. Vor, content and tipsy from the festivities, retires to the inn for the night.

In the dark, Vor awakens to an intruder and narrowly evades a knife strike. He grapples with the attacker and recognizes Tula. Declaring vengeance for Griffin Harkonnen and blaming Vor for ruining House Harkonnen, Tula fights with lethal skill. Vor stuns her with a pitcher, but she escapes out the window as townsfolk arrive.

Realizing Orry is in danger, Vor and Willem race to the honeymoon cottage at dawn. A serving woman discovers a gruesome scene: Orry lies in bed with his throat cut; Tula is gone. Willem collapses in grief while Vor finds a bloodstained, taunting note shaped into descending lines, proclaiming Tula’s true identity and promising relentless Harkonnen vengeance upon all Atreides.
