Overview

Summary
Piper dreams she is on the Wilderness School roof with Jason, sharing blankets under a meteor shower. Their flirtation turns into a kiss, capturing the future she hopes for with Jason.
The scene shifts to Medea’s ruined department store, where Aphrodite appears, her beauty subtly changing to match Piper’s ideal. Aphrodite confirms it is a dream and apologizes for interrupting the happier one.
Aphrodite explains the Doors of Death are open, allowing the dead—especially the worst enemies of the gods—and monsters from Tartarus to return rapidly. Aphrodite declares that seven great demigods must unite to defeat the giants and that Piper’s unique role is to mediate between two divided sides, determining peace or bloodshed. Hinting that Zeus kept those sides apart and that Hera has taken a necessary risk, Aphrodite urges Piper to find her own strengths, then fades the dream, teasing that she picked out clothes for Piper.
