Summary
Drew escorts Jason to the Big House, flirting and speculating about his divine parentage. Jason feels he doesn’t belong. Chiron arrives, shocked, declaring Jason should be dead, and brings him inside.
In the vine-covered living room with the animated leopard head, Seymour, Jason recounts waking on the bus and arriving at camp. Chiron confirms the gods are real, notes Jason’s fluent Latin, and hints Jason’s presence breaks an oath and could be disastrous. He alludes to past wars and new danger but refuses to explain further.
Time abruptly freezes. A hooded woman of dark mist emerges from Seymour, wearing a goatskin cloak. She claims long-standing ties to Jason, says his father named him to appease her, and demands he free her from a prison by sunset on the solstice or he will never regain his memories. She dissolves, time resumes, and Jason explains the visitation to a startled Chiron.
Before Chiron can elaborate, Annabeth and a redheaded girl burst in, dragging an unconscious Piper. They report a catastrophic vision in Hera’s cabin, and the redheaded girl tearfully fears she may have killed Piper, escalating the urgency around the imprisoned goddess and the looming deadline.
