In the hidden Lasian Basin, Esbar du Apaya uq-Nāra gives birth to a daughter, supported by Tunuva Melim and their sisters. The Prioress recognizes the child as a warrior for the Mother, and Esbar names her Siyu du Tunuva uq-Nāra. Summary
At a concealed sanctuary in the Lasian Basin, Esbar du Apaya uq-Nāra labors early, surrounded by sisters who light the chamber and encourage her. Supported by her birthmother, Apaya, and her partner, Tunuva Melim, Esbar focuses on the statue of Gedali for strength and delivers a living child to Denag’s waiting hands.
When the newborn cries, the Prioress proclaims the Mother’s favor and the birth of a future warrior. Relief and joy ripple through the room as Esbar is tended, nurses the child, and asks Apaya to watch over Tunuva, underscoring Esbar’s protective love and their communal bonds.
After resting, Esbar greets Imsurin, the child’s father, and entrusts the infant to him while she sleeps, establishing shared responsibility. By noon, the Prioress returns with Tunuva and Denag to formalize the blessing, noting Esbar’s right to bestow two names as a descendant of Siyāti du Verda uq-Nāra.
Esbar names the child Siyu du Tunuva uq-Nāra, honoring Tunuva and dedicating the girl to the Mother’s service against the Nameless One. The Prioress anoints and welcomes Siyu to the Priory, sealing the child’s future role and deepening Esbar and Tunuva’s familial and spiritual ties.
