Ravi tries to support her, but Pip pushes him away, revealing how the case and Max’s acquittal are isolating her. Ravi leaves hurt, declaring his love.
Summary
Pip tells her parents she has been suspended for three days after shoving Anthony Lowe. Her mum presses about Cambridge and Pip’s behavior, while her dad, Victor, tries to be understanding. Pip admits Ant called her a liar, echoing the verdict and online attacks, and says she doesn’t feel guilty.
The argument escalates as Pip frames her anger around Max Hastings’ acquittal and Jamie Reynolds’ six-day disappearance, insisting shouting isn’t the real problem. She refuses to apologize, and retreats to her room, isolating herself and ignoring her phone.
Ravi arrives, sent upstairs by Pip’s mum to talk to her. He finds Pip under her desk. Pip is numb and volatile, asking whether Max smiled at the verdict and insisting the truth no longer matters. Ravi urges her not to let Max win by destroying her, and reaches out to comfort her.
Pip pulls away, saying maybe she wants to hate everyone, including Ravi. She despairs that last year’s fight for truth meant nothing if Max is “innocent” and Jamie might be beyond saving. Ravi shares his own need to find Jamie, seeing it as a second chance after losing his brother Sal, and pleads with Pip to stop pushing him away.
Pip insists she wants to be alone. Ravi, hurt but patient, says he knows she’s lashing out, asks her to remember who she is, and leaves. At the door he says he loves her and exits, leaving Pip isolated in her anger and fear.
