Overview
Pip avoids home and doubles down on the search after online appeals explode. Cara hazily recalls seeing Jamie at the calamity party, and Stephen Thompson confirms Jamie attended, wearing a dark red shirt and keeping to himself.
This pins Jamie’s post-memorial movements and sets Pip to gather party photos to narrow the timeline.
Summary
Pip works from a café to avoid confronting her parents about the search as her online appeals surge, attracting trolls. Cara arrives and, prompted by the missing posters, admits a hazy memory of seeing Jamie at the calamity party on Friday night.
Pip tests the lead by contacting attendees. Ant and Lauren report nothing useful. Pip then calls party host Stephen Thompson, who recognizes Jamie from a photo and recalls seeing him early in the night, wearing a dark red shirt, standing alone and watching without a drink.
Stephen estimates most guests came straight from the memorial and says the police—Officer da Silva—shut the party down at about 1 a.m. He asks Pip not to publicize the party, but Pip prioritizes the investigation.
With two accounts placing Jamie at the party after the memorial, Pip concludes this is Jamie’s next confirmed location. She plans to crowdsource photos from attendees via Facebook to establish a precise timeframe and understand whom Jamie might have been watching or following.
