Overview

Pip uploads Max’s recorded admission of drugging and assaulting Becca, publicly declaring him guilty. She then vandalizes the Hastings’ home, painting a threat and smashing windows, embracing her vigilante resolve. Afterward she reconciles with Ravi, they confess love, and she prepares to tell him what she’s done.

Summary

Pip sits in her car on Tudor Lane, replaying the recorded call in which Max admits to drugging Becca. Framing justice as not letting Max “win,” she uploads the audio to her website and podcast feed, declaring him guilty despite the verdict.

Armed with paint and a hammer, Pip approaches the empty Hastings house. She paints “Rapist I will get you” across the front door and bricks, then smashes all six front windows. Exhausted and rain-soaked, she takes in the destruction and realizes the scream inside her has quieted.

Pip texts Ravi to come outside. He meets her in the rain, and she apologizes for lashing out at him, admitting she was angry at herself and has been denying who she is. She embraces that side—obsessive, willing to do bad things for what she sees as justice—and tells Ravi she loves him.

Ravi kisses her and says he loves her too, joking to ease the moment. Pip then tells him she needs to confess something she just did, prompting Ravi to ask what she’s done as the chapter ends.
