Overview

Pip, Ravi, and Connor determine Layla is hunting “Child Brunswick,” Scott Brunswick’s hidden son, likely in Little Kilton. Online sleuthing uncovers a 4chan tip pointing to a Grendon Prison source. Pip links this to inmate Howie Bowers and her old blackmail photos, revealing Stanley Forbes as Child Brunswick.

Summary

Pip tells Connor and Ravi that Layla appears to be targeting men aged twenty-nine to thirty to find “Child Brunswick,” Scott Brunswick’s son, and likely believes he lives in Little Kilton. They infer Jamie’s meeting with Luke Eaton was to test him with the phrase; when Luke didn’t react, Jamie likely went to meet someone else who did.

The trio begins deeper research despite injunctions on Child Brunswick’s identity. They compile rumors: a 2009 Devon exposure scare, a 2014 false-ID contempt case, and Dartford gossip that led to a suicide. The search illustrates public danger and misinformation around the case.

Pip finds a 4chan thread from four months earlier claiming Child Brunswick is in “Little Kliton.” The poster cites a chain-of-hearsay source from Grendon Prison: a new inmate from Little Kilton who supposedly knows Child Brunswick’s identity.

Pip connects Grendon to Howie Bowers, who was recently incarcerated. Remembering leverage photos from last year, she retrieves images showing Stanley Forbes secretly paying Howie and recalling overheard threats about blackmail.

Linking the prison tip to Howie and the blackmail, Pip concludes that Stanley Forbes is Child Brunswick, the person Layla is hunting—and therefore central to finding Jamie.
