Overview
Pip confronts Nat about Jamie and a possible link to Luke’s drug losses; Nat denies Jamie visited her. On the way back, Pip senses she’s being watched and then learns the jury has acquitted Max on all charges. Pip rushes to Nat, who collapses in grief, and comforts her.
Summary
Pip goes to Nat da Silva’s house, believing new answers may lie with her. She asks about Jamie’s recent contact, the name Layla Mead, and whether Jamie came to Nat’s house after the memorial. Nat denies everything, contradicting an eyewitness who placed Jamie there, and tries to end the conversation.
Pip pushes further, tying Luke Eaton to a drug operation at the Sycamore farmhouse and to a missing £900, the same amount Jamie recently sought. She speculates Jamie might have owed Luke. Nat grows angry, insists neither she nor Luke is involved, and slams the door.
Walking away, Pip feels watched but sees no one. Ravi calls: the jury has returned a not-guilty verdict for Max on all charges. Stunned, Pip breaks down briefly, then decides Nat shouldn’t be alone with the news and runs back to her house.
When Pip tells her, Nat reads the verdict in Pip’s face. Nat collapses in shock and grief, screaming and sobbing. Pip holds and comforts Nat on the floor, repeating apologies as Nat’s world falls apart.
