Summary
Five months after the shooting, Charly waits anxiously for a family meeting about her future. Clark, her estranged husband, appears unexpectedly, complimenting her improvements and joining the meeting with Charly’s mother, Dr. Greenberg, and therapists Amy, Valerie, and Natalie.
Dr. Greenberg praises early gains but states Charly’s progress has slowed and insurance will stop covering inpatient rehab. Amy notes clear speech and reading improvements, while Valerie reports persistent, severe left neglect that undermines dressing, bathing, and hand hygiene. Natalie explains Charly lacks control of her left leg, will rely primarily on a manual wheelchair, and is unsafe with a power chair.
