Summary
Five months after, on the first warm day of spring, Charly’s mother convinces Charly to leave the unit for the hospital porch after Clark departs. Charly hesitates, fearing being seen and frustrated by veering left in her wheelchair, but agrees and is reassured the porch is hidden from the street.
