Summary
After school, Mabel lingers at the bike shed, avoiding the crowd. Christos has left early for work, leaving her alone when Billy arrives, calls her “Mad Mabel,” and taunts her with insinuations about Mr Loukas. Billy blocks the exit, grabs Mabel’s bike, and then her shoulder, escalating the threat.
Recognizing that resisting directly would likely fail, Mabel uses Billy’s grip and her own momentum to surge into him, toppling him backward. Billy’s expression shifts from amusement to fear as he falls.
At that exact moment, Christos appears in the doorway. Billy’s head collides with Christos’s, and Christos’s head then hits the asphalt. The incident ends with Christos injured by accident, tying Billy’s aggression to a consequence that will weigh on Mabel.
