Meryn, Stark, Venna, and Noemi descend an ancient spiral into blue-lit depths where their magic is dampened. The Kryptos door ignites, and only Venna retains full power. Testing the chamber, she reveals it reacts violently to noise. Using sign language and stealth, Venna and Skaia lead the group through a near-total dark gauntlet of traps, with Venna innovating a shadow-light technique to push darkness back just enough to navigate. They crawl a low tunnel and reach the exit, restoring their mental link.

Immediately, the Daemos symbol flares red and severs their link again. Inside a long room, a verse—“Strength is fire, and loyalty light—both make the hand that wins the fight”—triggers fiery hand glyphs as the walls begin to crush inward. Stark mounts Cratos and unleashes immense strength to hold the walls, quickly straining to his limits as the wolves join him to slow the press.

With seconds left, the group searches for a symbol embodying both strength and loyalty. Rejecting chained hands and a crown gripped to bleed, Meryn recognizes Stark’s loyalty as an offering, not possession, and presses the crown-above-open-palm glyph. The walls retreat, the far door opens, and the fire subsides.

Meryn steadies the exhausted Stark, then the group continues downward. A new landing flares gold with the Phylax symbol. Noemi opens the door to a vast chamber beyond, where they step onto a ledge, preparing for the next trial.
