Alicia states Theo returned moments earlier and injected her, prompting her to document what truly happened the night Gabriel died. She describes Theo breaking in, tying her up, and ambushing Gabriel on his return. After rousing Gabriel, Theo announced he would kill one of them and forced Gabriel to choose who would die.

As Theo counted down, Alicia begged Gabriel to declare his love. Gabriel, terrified, said, “I don’t want to die.” Theo then fired a shot into the ceiling, untied Alicia, and left, revealing his motive: vengeance for Gabriel’s affair with Theo’s wife. Alicia, feeling emotionally annihilated by Gabriel’s choice, remained silent while Gabriel pleaded.

Concluding that Gabriel’s decision had killed her in spirit and confirmed she would never be safe or loved, Alicia picked up the gun and shot him. She frames this not as righteous vengeance but as the final act after Gabriel “killed” her.
