Part Four — Chapter Four
Overview
Theo arranges a covert meeting with Alicia in the art room to confront her directly after reading her diary. He tests her reaction to Christian West’s hidden history but she remains silent and impassive. Frustrated yet resolute, Theo commits to investigating inconsistencies and reassures Alicia of his allegiance.
Summary
While Diomedes is in his office and Stephanie is occupied, Theo enlists Yuri’s help to organize a discreet meeting with Alicia. With the therapy room booked, Yuri arranges the art room, signaling the need for speed to avoid Stephanie’s detection.
Across a paint-stained table, Theo thanks Alicia for trusting him with her diary and notes its abrupt ending. Expecting an opening, he instead encounters Alicia’s rigid, unreadable silence. He frames the diary as indirect communication and invites her to speak directly, but she offers no response.
Theo probes her connection to Christian West, revealing he knows about their prior private therapy and suggesting Alicia must have recognized Christian at the Grove. Alicia shows no reaction, appearing bored and disappointed, as if Theo has missed the point.
Seeing unresolved contradictions between the diary and other accounts, Theo tells Alicia he intends to investigate further. He returns the diary, reiterates he is on her side, and accepts her continued silence as tacit acknowledgment before ending the covert session.
