Five days have passed since Lily has seen Atlas. Lily accepts that their schedules are difficult because Atlas is handling custody issues, two businesses, and Josh, while Lily is short-staffed at the flower shop and without her mother’s help because her mother has the flu. Lily also delays introducing Atlas to Emerson because Lily believes she should first tell Ryle she is dating someone, a prospect that terrifies her.

At the shop, Allysa works with Lily and asks about Lucy’s upcoming wedding. Allysa explains that she and Marshall cannot attend because of her parents’ anniversary dinner, leaving Lily without the cover she expected if she wanted to bring Atlas. The conversation turns to Lily’s need to tell Ryle she is dating again, and Lily admits she fears Ryle’s reaction, especially because the man is Atlas.

Allysa questions why Ryle hates Atlas so much, and Lily clarifies that Lily never cheated on Ryle with Atlas. Lily explains that Ryle reacted badly because Lily kept reminders of her past with Atlas and because Atlas’s place in Lily’s history threatened Ryle. When Atlas texts offering to bring Lily lunch, Allysa urges Lily to accept food for both of them. Atlas arrives while Lily and Allysa are with customers, and Allysa gets a chance to speak with Atlas before Lily joins them. Atlas greets Lily warmly, and the easy interaction between Atlas and Allysa reassures Lily, who values Allysa’s honesty over blind loyalty to Ryle.

Lily asks Atlas about Josh’s school situation, and Atlas says he has arranged enrollment nearby, though he had to lie on some forms. Allysa mentions that Lily will be free next Saturday for Lucy’s wedding, prompting Lily to invite Atlas. Atlas accepts, teasing Lily about sleeping through their first date, and leaves in a cheerful mood.

After Atlas leaves, Allysa remarks on how likable and attractive Atlas is, while also acknowledging how complicated that makes things with Ryle. Lily responds bluntly that Ryle should feel more emasculated by having beaten his wife than by Lily moving on. Allysa accepts the point, confirming that despite being Ryle’s sister, she recognizes Lily’s right to rebuild her life.
