After Sutton leaves, Lily remains alone in Atlas’s living room, shaken by the confrontation and saddened for both Atlas and Josh. Atlas retreats to his bedroom to recover, and Lily decides not to intrude. Wanting to help, Lily goes to the kitchen and makes a simple breakfast.

Lily invites Josh to eat once Josh confirms Sutton is gone. Over breakfast, Josh questions Lily about Emerson and about Lily’s relationship with Atlas. Lily explains that Lily has known Atlas since Lily was fifteen and gently reveals that Atlas often had nowhere to live when Atlas was younger, hoping Josh will better understand how much Atlas cares about Josh.

The conversation relaxes as Josh critiques Lily’s cooking, then talks with Lily about possible futures. Josh says Josh enjoys helping at Atlas’s restaurants but worries about getting bored with any single career. At Lily’s car, Atlas and Lily share a long, sad embrace. Lily asks what Atlas thinks will happen, and Atlas admits Atlas does not know but feels worried for Josh. Lily says that worry comes from love, prompting Atlas to openly tell Lily that Atlas has loved Lily for years. Lily says Lily has loved Atlas just as long, and after they exchange goodbyes, Lily drives home conflicted—happy about their closeness but anxious about Josh and Atlas searching for Tim.
