In a secluded chamber at Sietch Tabr, Jessica engineers a private meeting with Ghanima, deliberately excluding Leto. Battling fear, she inwardly recites the Bene Gesserit Litany, which Ghanima perceives, signaling an intimate mutual awareness. Dropping her emotional defenses, Jessica admits fear for her grandchildren and reveals the Bene Gesserit test once given to Paul.

Ghanima shares the vivid ancestral memory of Paul’s gom jabbar trial, prompting Jessica to state she will not repeat such a test. Pressed by Ghanima, Jessica concedes she doubts Leto’s safety from Abomination, though she trusts Ghanima. They agree Alia is possessed, and Jessica mourns her daughter even as she confronts the necessity of action.

Ghanima explains the twins’ method of avoiding Abomination by refusing spice-trance, contrasting Alia’s indulgence.
