Exploring, Leto finds a qanat teeming with predator fish and workers clearing sand, confirming open water. Muriz explains Shuloch’s boundary between fish and worm and their plan to lure sandtrout by removing fish, revealing an operation to sell sandtrout and worms off-planet.

Leto counters that off-world survival for worms won’t happen “in ten thousand years,” unsettling Muriz with his prescient certainty. They enter the hut to find a captive caretaker. Muriz orders spice-drink; Leto identifies the woman as Sabiha, Namri’s niece, sent for punishment after his escape.

Sabiha flees to the qanat edge, accusing Leto of shaming her and costing her water. Leto declares that his water flows in Sabiha’s veins and that he fled the desert to meet his fate at Shuloch, signaling a purposeful convergence of his vision.

Challenged on leadership, Leto invokes “Kralizec,” the Typhoon Struggle, claiming he will lead the Fremen through it. Overcome, Leto weeps—an act that awes both Sabiha and Muriz—then tells Muriz to pray for Kralizec, promising it will come, asserting the trajectory of his Golden Path.
