Overview

Hazel reunites with Arion, who urgently summons her toward a violent storm over ancient ruins. Sensing a darker power at work and eager to contribute, Hazel chooses to ride out alone, instructing Nico and Leo to wait. Her decision signals a leadership turn and sets up an ominous encounter.

Summary

Hazel joyfully reunites with Arion on the ground, relieved to be off the Argo II and eager to be useful. Though she cannot speak to him, Hazel reads Arion’s urgency and understands he wants her to follow. She feeds him a summoned gold nugget and prepares to ride.

Leo and Nico call down from the ship, worried as a black funnel cloud gathers over ruins a mile away. Hazel realizes Arion intends to head straight toward the storm. She senses a powerful, possibly unfriendly force within it—perhaps not just Pluto’s guidance—but also sees a chance to take initiative.

Strapping on her Imperial gold cavalry sword, Hazel assures Nico and Leo she will return and tells them to wait. Trusting Arion and her own resolve, she spurs the horse forward, racing across the countryside toward the ominous ruins and whatever summoned them.
