Katia returns to human form, stores Astrid’s body in her inventory, and prepares to finish the quest while Minge continues destroying the club below.

Carl sends Katia up the secret bathroom stairwell to claim the reward while Carl stays behind to solve the Minge problem. Carl messages Mordecai, who explains that vorpals are not a species but a celestial condition: anti-demon guardians who become stronger near demons, draw demon aggression, may explode if defeated, and eventually return to the celestial realm after feeding on demon blood. Carl realizes the demon traps near the hidden room were meant to keep demons away from the vorpals, not to keep the vorpals contained.

As Minge tears into the kitchen, Carl orders the terrified kitchen staff to flee through the secret stairwell. Carl runs for the stairwell with Samantha, joining fleeing NPCs as the released vorpals begin shrieking below.

On the top floor, Samantha explains that a knife game opened a tear into the Nothing, allowing Minge, Slit’s younger sister, to escape. Carl finds the strip club packed with evacuees, dancers, and customers, including Damascus Steel and Anaconda, who are weeping after learning Astrid is dead. Katia embraces Carl and confirms Huanxin said one more step remains; Carl knows he still needs Odette to become the group’s adjutant, while Katia decides not to eat the orchid until the ninth floor because she refuses to abandon her squad.

Minge reaches through the top floor, but the vorpals catch up and attack from below. Yellow fluid sprays through the floor as Minge dies cursing Samantha. Samantha, covered in gore and delighted by the chaos, declares that they should go clubbing more often.
