Chaos Does Not Choose

Akira stands on a balcony, summoning a storm with gold and violet lightning, reveling in the Chaos she commands. Achaz arrives, demanding she stop. Unmoved, Akira taunts him about control, balance, and the futility of denying nature, emphasizing that there is only Chaos.

As rain intensifies, Achaz criticizes Akira’s lack of control and alludes to her deflecting purpose, while keeping his distance so her magic does not react to his. Akira mocks his hypocrisy, dangling from the railing and needling him about the madness power brings. She accuses him of caging her with wards and enchantments “for safety.”

The argument turns personal: Achaz admits he would never let her free; Akira counters that he separated her from the one who helps her control Chaos—Temural—and from “her,” their child. Akira rejects his offer to send Anala back, fearing harm to a friend; she notes Taika understands but is unavailable. Achaz snaps that Akira created something that should not exist with Temural.

Akira then tells a parable thinly veiling truth: a Being of Chaos, never satisfied, took from the Source to create something rivaling gods and Fates, upsetting balance more than past transgressors. That creation—Akira as a Fury—proved uncontrollable, as powerful as her maker. She declares herself wrath fueled by Chaos, and names her daughter as even more—born not only of Chaos and vengeance but of love, acceptance, and inevitability.

Achaz warns that Akira’s path will bring destruction and demands her ring so he can “save” the daughter. Akira refuses, revealing a black onyx ring that promises imminent freedom and asserting Temural will come for her. Achaz vows to prevent it. Akira ends with a threat veiled as prophecy: when a Being of Chaos plays with what he shouldn’t, Chaos will come to reign—because Achaz is a god, Akira is a Fury, and her daughter is Chaos itself.
