After silencing Theon’s protests, Luka recruits Razik and Eliza for a risky mission into the Faven dungeons. Cienna intercepts them and supplies a ward-bypassing potion, insisting her presence is required. In the cells they find Valter imprisoned and, deeper in, Luka’s father, Xan Mors, collared in white stone and magically suppressed for twenty-five years.

Xan cites a prophecy that his release follows “a son learning truth,” which unexpectedly seems to hinge on Razik. With time short and dragonfire useless against the enchantments, Razik and Eliza combine their twin-flame magics, manifesting a dark phoenix that shatters the warded glass and, with careful control, snaps Xan’s chain. Luka supports the weakened Xan while Razik and Eliza cut down approaching sentinels.

Valter demands release, but Luka refuses, prioritizing Xan and vowing Valter’s fate belongs to others. The group escapes the warded corridor and Travels to Arius manor, where Xan, still collared, regains composure over strong liquor. A tense discussion reveals Eliza as Razik’s dragocen—an ancient, inevitable Chaos-bond distinct from, though compatible with, their twin-flame Trials.

Cienna departs to avoid Valter’s reprisals. Razik and Eliza disclose that Eviana is not in Faven but secretly imprisoned beneath Arius manor, her bond blocked by a Mark to prevent Valter finding her. Luka, torn between duty and personal loyalties, ends the chapter questioning whether he wants to keep choosing Tessa.
