13. Theon

Theon, tense and distracted in the manor library with Eliza and Razik, feels the bond surge and follows it to his father’s study. He finds Tessa poised and armed, icily declaring loathing while needling him about power, duty, and their twisted dependence as Source and storm. She binds Theon with light and threatens him, probing for control.

Theon breaks free, unleashing the full breadth of his darkness—wings, shields, and shadow—meeting Tessa’s volatile light, wind, and lightning. Their power intermingles, attraction and fury spiking as Theon challenges her control and motives, while Tessa blames him, Luka, and the realm for forging her into a monster. The duel escalates, shattering furniture and windows.

Luka erupts between them in black flames, trying to halt the fight, but Tessa’s attacks continue. Theon insists it is their fight, and accusations of manipulation and mistrust fly. Eliza and Razik arrive, recognizing Luka; Razik addresses him as brother, stunning the room and exposing hidden ties.

Tessa abruptly ends the standoff by giving Theon a pointed lead: his father has a place in the Underground’s Leisure District; speak with the Alpha and Beta and bring coin. She clarifies the favor is for Axel, whom she cared for, not for Theon, and portals away. Luka departs to contain further damage.

In the stunned aftermath, Theon confirms to Eliza and Razik that Luka is his Guardian—and, per Eliza’s queen, Razik’s brother—cementing a new revelation that complicates loyalties as the hunt for Axel refocuses on the Underground.
