Overview
Heck confronts Allie and Horation, but Allie strikes first, stabbing Horation in the neck. Horation manipulates perceptions, then overpowers and disarms Heck after the plane lurches. As Allie crawls for escape, an otherworldly scream outside swells into a thunderclap, signaling King Sorrow’s imminent arrival and escalating the danger aboard.
Summary
Heck arrives with his gun drawn and orders compliance. Before Horation can react, Allie drives a corkscrew into Horation’s neck. Horation drops his commanding persona, feigning panic to cast Allie as the attacker, unsettling Heck and the nearby passengers.
Heck, uncertain, tries to force both to the floor to sort things out. The aircraft suddenly lurches, pitching him forward over Allie. Horation seizes the opening, grabbing Heck’s wrist, redirecting the gun, and striking Heck in the throat to break his balance.
Horation clamps one hand around Heck’s neck and wrenches the agent’s arm with the other, prying the gun free. As Horation chokes Heck one-handed, Allie, dazed from being hit, crawls past them toward the stairwell, seeking any escape or advantage.
A rising, inhuman scream from outside overtakes the cabin’s shouts and panic. It crescendos into a thunderclap that Allie recognizes as the herald of King Sorrow, confirming his arrival and turning the confrontation aboard the 747 into a crisis beyond human control.
