2. Eden
Overview
Eden confronts a woman in her home who looks like her, wears her clothes and rings, and claims to be Eden. When Harrison appears, he sides with the stranger, denies knowing Eden, and shuts her out. The betrayal escalates Eden’s identity nightmare and isolates her from her presumed ally.
Summary
Eden returns home after a run to find a woman inside her house wearing Eden’s dress and even her perfume. The woman insists Eden is mistaken and tries to close the door, prompting Eden to block it and assert her identity and ownership.
Eden notices the woman’s close resemblance—hair, makeup, and an older, more polished look—then realizes the woman is also wearing Eden’s engagement and wedding rings. Fear turns to anger as Eden accuses the stranger of lying and demands answers, while the woman threatens to call the police.
Hearing Harrison arrive, Eden expects him to resolve the situation. Instead, the woman claims Eden is threatening her. Harrison appears in his suit, places a protective arm around the stranger, and confronts Eden.
To Eden’s shock, Harrison declares that the house belongs to him and the woman, states he does not know Eden, and orders her to leave. He then slams the door in Eden’s face, leaving her outside, betrayed and shut out of her own life.
