29. Henry

Henry presents Harlow’s wedding gift: a small, Holly-blessed safe room concealed off his closet. He explains the ward’s uniqueness and that only Harlow can enter, healing a cut she got testing the lock. He notes Holly’s limited capacity to shield entire areas due to the cost of holy fire.

Harlow thanks him, then immediately probes the boundary by shoving Henry into the invisible ward and daring him. Seated inside, she provokes him with explicit self-pleasure, testing both the magic and Henry’s control. Henry, aroused and frustrated, refuses to use manipulation magic to breach the ward.

To lure her out, Henry unveils the second part of the gift: a box of glass toys, silk restraints, and a handwritten book of explicit stories from the fort’s storytelling bar. Harlow’s curiosity spikes, though she subtly flinches at a riding crop, triggering Henry’s anger at whoever hurt her, but he withholds comment.
