Isla clings to the oracle’s claim that the outcome is undecided while Oro, frantic, fails to force open the vault using her power. Fearing Isla’s foretold death, Oro admits that their love bond would allow him to take her abilities if she dies, potentially saving Starlings and Wildlings. Accepting the risk, Isla prepares to recruit the Vinderland.

Before departing, Oro casts a Starling shield over Isla, which she learns to control. Isla kisses Oro goodbye and then portals with Enya to the frozen Vinderland. Battling the storm, Enya warms the air and reveals she knows exactly when she will die—knowledge granted by an oracle at birth—explaining her calm under threat.

A Vinderland force confronts them with arrows and taunts. Enya’s fire incinerates incoming missiles, while Isla’s shield holds under heavy strikes. Seeking leverage, Isla raises trees from the barren ice, forcing recognition.

Negotiations begin with a scarred leader accusing Isla of killing their people; Isla counters with the larger threat: Nightshade’s impending destruction of Lightlark and Moonling defection. Despite her warning and plea for alliance, the leader refuses, declaring they would sooner die than help.

When the leader swings his axe at Isla, her shield flickers. She instinctively raises a hand—and the weapon turns to ash on contact. The failed parley, Enya’s fearless stance, and Isla’s startling new ability leave the Vinderland standoff unresolved and the war’s stakes sharply escalated.
