Overview
Kaden traps Cameron at a massacre-strewn bar, unveiling Xavier and the seemingly resurrected Azrael under his absolute control. After goading Cameron’s guilt and love, Kaden forces his blood on Cameron, likely binding him, and prepares to take them away, escalating Kaden’s power and tightening his grip on key players.
Summary
Cameron wakes beside two strangers and is jolted by calls from Xavier’s phone. A stranger answers: Kaden, who lures Cameron to a bar. Inside, Cameron finds slaughtered bodies and Irvikuva feeding, confirming Kaden’s presence and power.
Kaden reveals Xavier, whose cobalt-lit eyes and vacant demeanor show he is enthralled. To prove control, Kaden orders Xavier to slit his throat; Cameron wrests the blade away, preventing the command. Kaden opens a portal and brings in Azrael—long believed dead—also cobalt-bright and unresponsive, then dismisses the portal.
Kaden toys with Cameron’s emotions, accusing him of burying guilt and love, and alludes to Cameron’s role in orders from Athos and Kryella that cost Xavier’s family, including his sister. Kaden argues Cameron will do anything to keep Xavier safe and insists Cameron will follow his rules.
Framing it as a necessary choice for what is coming and the “long trip home,” Kaden coerces Cameron by forcing his blood on him. Cameron’s soul sears under the compulsion, darkness overtakes him, and he blacks out thinking only of Xavier.
