Overview
From Logan’s view, Dianna lets Tobias swallow her, then kills him from within and burns his corpse, proving formidable leadership. As Kaden arrives with a vast winged horde, Logan and Neverra vow to stand with Dianna. Confronted with certain defeat, Dianna chooses to withdraw with them instead of pursuing vengeance.
Summary
Logan watches in horror as Tobias engulfs Dianna. He and Neverra brace to die together, only for Tobias to thrash as a fiery glow builds inside him. Dianna drives her blade outward, splitting Tobias from belly to head, then incinerates the remains, standing in the ashes as the wind carries them away.
In the aftermath, Logan recognizes why Samkiel risked everything for Dianna, seeing her as a queen worthy of a king. Dianna, bloodied and exhausted, dismisses their armored readiness with a wry comment, asserting she had the fight handled, even as the cavern shakes with an approaching roar.
Kaden returns, bringing a sky-darkening swarm of winged beasts. Logan and Neverra, depleted yet resolute, offer Dianna a choice: they will either leave with her or die with her. Their joined hands and vows underscore a new bond and loyalty she has rarely known.
Torn between long-sought vengeance and the lives beside her, Dianna apologizes and decides to withdraw. With Kaden’s horde closing in, she chooses her allies over pursuit, and the trio prepares to leave together.
