Characters

• Dianna Martinez
  Also known as Mer-Ka and Ayla, Dianna is the grief-driven Ig’Morruthen at the center of the story. Her revenge for Gabriella’s death drives much of the plot, but her arc turns on confronting guilt, reclaiming suppressed power, accepting chosen family, and completing a soul-bond with Samkiel.
• Samkiel
  The returned World Ender and ruler trying to stabilize the realms while saving Dianna from vengeance and manipulation. He publicly claims and protects her, uncovers Kaden’s true history, is used to open the realms, and is resurrected through his bond with Dianna.
• Kaden
  The main schemer for most of the book, revealed as Unir’s son and Samkiel’s brother. He created or commanded Yejedin’s kings, manipulated Dianna for years, orchestrates the Equinox ritual, and uses Dianna’s blood to forge the weapon that opens the realms through Samkiel.
• Gabriella Martinez
  Dianna’s beloved sister, also known as Gabby and Ain, whose death triggers Dianna’s vengeance and emotional collapse. Through memories, a letter, and a mindscape appearance, she pushes Dianna toward grief, love, and the return of her powers.
• Logan
  Samkiel’s closest ally and a member of The Hand whose search for Neverra draws him into Dianna’s mission. He follows Dianna into Yejedin, rescues Neverra, defends Dianna’s humanity, and later seeks release from The Hand to build a life with his mate.
• Neverra
  Logan’s soul-tied partner, abducted by Kaden and imprisoned in Yejedin. After her rescue, she becomes a crucial witness to Kaden’s operation and a supportive friend to Dianna, delivering Gabriella’s letter and helping Dianna feel part of a family.
• Roccurem
  A fate-like being freed by Dianna and later called Reggie, who guides, manipulates, and withholds information in service of larger designs. He warns of the One True King, helps force Dianna and Samkiel toward key choices, and explains the Mark of Dhihsin after Samkiel’s death.
• Vincent
  A powerful member of Samkiel’s circle who begins as an advisor focused on order and mortal stability. His fear of Dianna and resentment of Samkiel’s choices deepen until he betrays the group and helps Kaden and The Order.
• Cameron
  A member of The Hand marked by humor, loyalty, and unresolved feelings for Xavier. He initially fights Dianna, later offers her family, but is coerced by Kaden through his love for Xavier and becomes part of Dianna’s abduction.
• Xavier
  A skilled member of The Hand who fights alongside Cameron and helps guard or retrieve Dianna at key moments. His bond with Cameron becomes a point of emotional fracture, and Kaden later enthralls him to control Cameron.
• Imogen
  A member of The Hand and Samkiel’s former political betrothed, whose history with him becomes a weapon Kaden uses against Dianna. She later clarifies the past, supports Dianna’s healing, and is emotion-suppressed during The Order’s ritual.
• Camilla
  A witch forced into Dianna’s service after preserving Gabriella’s body. She crafts talismans and spells that shape Dianna’s plans, including the sleep spell Samkiel uses, and is later captured and dragged into The Order’s ritual.
• Tobias Haldnunen
  One of Kaden’s kings and a major Yejedin antagonist who commands the dead and appears as a massive serpent. He reveals key information about the Equinox and Dianna’s sister before Dianna kills him from within.
• Azrael
  The Celestial of Death, long believed dead and later revealed as Dianna’s father. Under compulsion, he helps Kaden complete the spear and guard Dianna, though he briefly regains himself and urges her to kill him to break the command.
• Nismera
  An ancient warlike goddess who emerges after the realms are opened and immediately becomes the greater threat. She seizes relics, plans to raze Onuna, and nearly executes Samkiel before Dianna and Roccurem extract him.
• Unir
  Samkiel’s father, the World Bringer, whose hidden creations and bindings shape the central catastrophe. He created Yejedin, fathered Kaden and Samkiel, bound Samkiel’s life to the realms, and left prophecies and consequences for others to uncover.
• The Higher One
  A powerful being Samkiel consults for answers about Yejedin and Kaden. She reveals Kaden’s parentage, Dianna’s status as Samkiel’s amata, and the divided loyalties of the fates, while also admitting she stalled Samkiel for The Order.
• Elianna
  A council figure who opposes Dianna and later stands revealed as part of The Order. She helps trap Samkiel in Primordial wards during the Equinox ritual.
• Leviathan
  A councilor involved in debates over cosmic instability, Dianna’s consequences, and the Equinox timing. He later participates in The Order’s ritual against Samkiel.
• Jiraiya
  A councilor who reinforces the council’s authority in earlier proceedings. During the betrayal, he helps seal the ritual around Samkiel with gray sands.
• Tora
  The council scribe who records proceedings and voices concern about Dianna’s potential to rival Samkiel. The scribe’s role is significant because the Primordial wards binding Samkiel can only be broken by the scribe.
• Rolluse
  A councilor who participates in the council’s questioning about the remaining Ig’Morruthens. His role reflects the council’s suspicion of Dianna and demand for answers.
• The Order
  The conspiratorial faction revealed within the council and Samkiel’s own circle. It works with Kaden, uses emotional suppression and compulsion, and helps execute the Equinox ritual that opens the realms.
• The One True King
  A distant power repeatedly warned about by Roccurem and tied to the fates’ ultimate allegiance. His coming frames Kaden, Nismera, and The Order as parts of a larger threat.
• Isaiah
  Another son of Unir aligned with Nismera and Kaden’s side. He mutilates Samkiel, severs his hand, and gives the Ring of Oblivion to Nismera.
• Porphyrion
  A giant king found imprisoned in Yejedin for thousands of years. His testimony reveals that Yejedin was created by Unir and that Kaden was one of Unir’s blood-linked generals.
• Drake Vanderkai
  The vampire who lures Gabriella, Neverra, and Rick into Kaden’s trap. Dianna drinks his blood to confirm his betrayal, and his dying words give Samkiel a clue that Neverra lives.
• Ethan Vanderkai
  Drake’s brother, whose choices help enable Kaden’s plot and Gabriella’s death. He reveals that powerful forces fear Samkiel and Dianna together before dying in Dianna’s attack.
• Naomi Vanderkai

• Webster Malone
  A Kaden-linked trafficker killed by Dianna and used as a disguise to infiltrate a meeting. His records point Samkiel toward Denvior Edge and the iron-smuggling operation.
