Overview

Dianna and Samkiel host a holiday dinner to mend fractures within The Hand. Vincent returns to apologize, easing tensions. Samkiel announces Yejedin is secured, vows to execute Kaden, and plans to dissolve The Hand afterward, pushing his family toward normal lives. Dianna builds new bonds, protects Samkiel, and reaffirms commitment with a meaningful gift and promise.

Summary

Dianna decorates for a holiday dinner, trying to create warmth for Samkiel’s fractured family. Samkiel returns from the council despondent over his past failures and his conflict with Vincent. Dianna reassures him and shares a note from Gabby, explaining why this gathering matters to her. They prepare to host, joking and finding small moments of intimacy.

The Hand arrives dressed for the occasion. Tension spikes when Vincent unexpectedly appears with cake. Dianna confronts him for disrespecting Samkiel; Vincent apologizes to both Samkiel and Dianna, and the room relaxes into cautious camaraderie. During dinner, Neverra and Logan announce they plan to try for a baby, which sparks surprise and joy.

Samkiel then addresses everyone: Yejedin is secured with new runes, and when Kaden is found he will be executed immediately. After that, The Hand will be dissolved so each of them can pursue peaceful lives and reunite annually for a new shared holiday. The group reacts with shock, relief, and uncertainty but begins discussing futures.

Later, Dianna steps outside and speaks with Roccurem, admitting her complicated feelings—guilt, protectiveness, and a ruthless readiness to defend Samkiel. Xavier finds her; she apologizes for the dream eaters’ visions and explains her fierce protection of those she loves. They share cake and a quiet understanding, easing a lingering rift.

As the night ends, Neverra gifts Dianna a framed photo, cementing sisterly bonds. In their room, Dianna gives Samkiel a pendant made from their festival photos; he binds it with power so it can never be lost. Dianna promises she won’t leave again, sealing it with a pinky promise and a kiss.
