Dianna wanders the palace forest, disoriented and bruised after a fall, reflecting on her suppressed powers and growing isolation. Convinced Samkiel may be with Imogen and tired of their friction, she drifts toward fatalistic thoughts of disappearing, believing no one would miss her.

The ground tremors announce Cameron and Xavier’s arrival. Cameron needles Dianna about where she has been and her condition, joking about her smell and the risk of predators. He then hints Samkiel might be with another celestial, stoking Dianna’s jealousy, while Xavier tries to soothe the situation.

Pressed about council meetings, Cameron and Xavier imply Samkiel has withheld information—chiefly Dianna—and confirm the council is discussing her among other matters. Cameron escalates the jealousy with a claim Samkiel spent the night with “Lydia,” prompting Dianna’s rage, before admitting it was a bet and a joke. The revelation eases Dianna’s surge of anger and insecurity.

Xavier explains Samkiel is giving Dianna space after what Logan said she told him, framing Samkiel’s absence as deliberate care rather than rejection. Dianna, aware of how grief has made her cruel and defensive, absorbs the truth amid lingering shame.

Seeing her injury and exhaustion, Xavier offers to carry her back, promising gentleness. Dianna accepts the kindness she feels she doesn’t deserve, and Xavier lifts her as he and Cameron launch into the sky toward the palace.
