Dianna searches Gabby's quarters for wires, cameras, or listening devices because Dianna assumes Liam and the celestials must be monitoring them. Gabby questions whether that is necessary for beings with heightened senses and suggests they may be trustworthy, but Dianna insists opposition to Kaden does not make them good.

After tearing through the living room and kitchen and finding nothing, Dianna admits frustration but does not lower her guard. Gabby asks about the plan, and Dianna says she intends to find Kaden's enemies, use them for information, and search for the ancient book alongside Liam, whom Dianna considers powerful, rude, and potentially as dangerous as Kaden.

Liam arrives with Neverra and explains that Neverra will stay with Gabby as one of her companions, while Logan will join in a few days, because Gabby may remain a target until the Book of Azrael is obtained.

Dianna and Gabby share an emotional goodbye, with Dianna joking that she is going to save the world and Gabby noting Dianna is the troublemaker. Dianna leaves Gabby with Neverra, closing the door as Neverra reacts to the disarray Dianna's search left behind.
