Moving through the damaged building, Liam steadies himself against memories of Rashearim and uses his senses to locate Dianna above him. He breaks through several floors and finds her in a relic-filled room, violently searching through books, scrolls, and sacred items. Their exchange reveals that Dianna has been testing Liam’s limits, while Liam tries to learn what she wants and what she knows.

Dianna attacks with a forsaken blade, a god-killing weapon made by the Primordials and once given to the four kings. Liam recognizes her fighting style as resembling The Hand, and Dianna admits Zekiel showed her some moves before his death summoned Liam back. Dianna provokes Liam about the lost gods and Zekiel, baiting Liam into an emotional strike that lets her stab Liam in the back.

The wound does not stop Liam, and his body heals immediately, confirming to Dianna that Liam is far harder to kill than expected. Liam cuts off Dianna’s arm to incapacitate her, but Dianna regenerates it, shocking Liam because no living creature should possess that power. A whistle then signals Dianna that she has delayed Liam long enough, implying she is not acting alone.

Dianna transforms into a massive winged Ig’Morruthen beast and blasts through the ceiling to escape. Liam, realizing the reports are true and Ig’Morruthens are on Onuna, draws on a painful inherited power from his father to seize Dianna with invisible force and drag her back down through the building. The exertion nearly overwhelms Liam, but Liam pursues Dianna into the rubble.

Dianna returns to her mortal form but tries to breathe fire, so Liam clamps her mouth shut and shocks her unconscious with silver energy. Liam carries Dianna outside, where Logan and Vincent report Neverra is safe and casualties are being handled. When Logan asks what they will do with Dianna, Liam answers that they will get answers.
