In Ethan’s old office, Liam waits with Drake and condemns the group’s current plan as horrific. While Liam tries to calm himself with silvery fire, Drake confronts Liam about his hostility toward Otherworld creatures and toward Drake personally.

The argument shifts to Dianna. Liam admits he dislikes Drake’s flirtatious treatment of her and insists Dianna deserves respect, not to be treated as a conquest or pawn. Drake reveals that he loves Dianna only as a friend and explains that Kaden isolated her for centuries, using Gabby and any possible attachment as leverage.

Drake then tells Liam how he first found Dianna and Gabby in Eoria during a plague. Gabby was dying, and Dianna begged Drake to save her sister, so Drake brought them to Kaden. Kaden’s intervention transformed Dianna by replacing part of her with something of himself, and Drake has carried guilt ever since because he believes he may have saved Dianna only to condemn her to Kaden’s control.

Liam reflects that Dianna’s survival explains her fierce loyalty and refusal to abandon those she loves. Drake urges Liam to stop denying his feelings, warning that Kaden will come for Dianna and that if Liam lets Kaden take her, Liam will never see her again.

Ethan’s arrival interrupts them, but Liam immediately recognizes that the figure is actually Dianna disguised as Ethan. The real Ethan follows behind her. Dianna gives Liam one of the silver chain bracelets, and when it activates, Drake confirms that the device successfully masks the powerful energy in the house, giving the group confidence that the plan can work.
