Lily is anxious in the elevator with Ryle because she is about to meet his mother. Ryle reassures Lily that his mother already likes her, but Lily worries that living with Ryle before marriage will make Ryle's religious mother judge her. When Ryle knocks on Allysa's apartment door, Lily accidentally calls herself a blasphemous bitch just as Ryle's mother opens the door.

Ryle's mother immediately laughs, hugs Lily, and warmly welcomes Lily into the family. Ryle's father also greets Lily with humor, joking about Marshall marrying Allysa young. Marshall and Allysa banter with the family, and Lily's fear fades as Lily realizes Ryle's parents are relaxed, affectionate, and accepting.

Later, Lily lies on Allysa's bed with Allysa while Ryle and Marshall watch sports. Lily feels Allysa's baby kick and is excited about becoming an aunt. Allysa says she cannot wait for Lily and Ryle to have a baby, but Lily admits Lily and Ryle have not discussed children.

Allysa shifts the conversation to marriage and suggests Ryle may propose soon because Ryle has already changed his mind about relationships and marriage for Lily. Lily says Lily would marry Ryle that night if Ryle asked. Ryle overhears from the doorway and, after a tense pause, tells Lily that of course Ryle would marry Lily.

Ryle proposes an immediate trip to Las Vegas because Ryle has the weekend off and Lily can leave the shop with others. Allysa initially protests that Lily might want a traditional wedding, but Lily decides Lily does not. Allysa joyfully announces the plan to Marshall, and Ryle assures Lily that Ryle is genuinely thrilled to become Lily's husband.
