Lily has been living with Ryle in their new apartment for a week, and the move has quickly begun to feel settled and official. Lily feels unusually content: she is married, has a home she loves, works with Allysa, and is excited that Allysa is overdue and close to giving birth.

As Lily closes the flower shop for the day, Ryle arrives with coffee, a newspaper, and three pieces of news. First, Lily learns that Lily Bloom’s won the newspaper’s “Best New Business in Boston” recognition. Second, Ryle reveals that he has been selected for training in Cambridge, keeping his career path in Boston. Third, he tells Lily that Allysa is in labor, and they rush to the hospital.

At the hospital, Lily and Ryle wait anxiously because Allysa’s delivery room has gone quiet. Marshall finally emerges in tears, frightening them for a moment before announcing that he is a father. After waiting to be allowed in, Lily and Ryle meet the baby girl, and Ryle nervously holds his niece for the first time.

Allysa and Marshall reveal that they have named the baby Rylee, adding an “e” to Ryle’s name to honor someone important to both of them. Ryle is stunned and moved, and Lily feels her love for Ryle deepen as she watches his tenderness with the baby.
