Overview
After the play, Miranda reunites with August and the Pullmans backstage. Isabel and Nate warmly invite her to a celebratory dinner, and Auggie pleads for her to come. Via and Justin join, and Via shows open affection. The evening marks a full reconnection for Miranda and restores her place with the family.
Summary
Backstage after the performance, Miranda is unexpectedly overjoyed to see August and embraces him. They exchange brief updates, with August noting he thought Miranda would be in the play and Miranda praising Via’s performance.
Isabel finds them and warmly greets Miranda, scolding August for wandering off. When Isabel checks on Miranda’s health, Miranda assures her she’s better and explains her mom isn’t there due to work. Miranda downplays missing the role, saying Via made a better Emily.
Nate arrives and repeats the friendly concern. Isabel invites Miranda to a late-night celebratory dinner. Miranda hesitates, but August pleads and Nate insists. The invitation signals acceptance and forgiveness.
Via and Justin approach with Justin’s mom. Via puts her arm around Miranda and insists she come along, smiling like old times. As they lead Miranda out of the crowd, Miranda feels fully happy for the first time in a long while, confirming her reconnection with the family.
