Summary
At a police briefing, Chris Hudson tells the murder squad that Ian Ventham was murdered. Donna De Freitas, now among the investigators, notices new faces in the room and privately marvels at her luck: two murders have placed her at the center of a major investigation.
Chris explains that Ian died from fentanyl poisoning. The overdose was massive, injected into the muscle of Ian’s upper arm, and was almost certainly administered in the moments before Ian collapsed.
Chris emphasizes that the toxicology finding is unofficial and came through a favor, not the formal process.
