Summary
Earlier, Will and Jules return toward the marquee in rising winds, leaving Olivia behind near the cliffs. Will admits he was tempted to push Olivia, citing her earlier apparent suicide attempt and the storm’s confusion, but reassures himself he is “not a killer.” He resolves to regain control.
Will frames his affair with Olivia as a temporary, deceit-fueled thrill, contrasting it with his calculated partnership with Jules, whom he views as an ambitious equal. He counts on Olivia’s insecurity to keep her silent, though he senses she has changed on the island.
Turning to immediate threats, Will decides he must contain Johnno before they reach the marquee. He blames Jules inviting Piers, which exposed the TV-show plans and inflamed Johnno.
