After receiving final messages from Toyotomi and Bomo, Carl reacts on instinct and launches himself out of Larracos with his last Levitation potion to reach Donut. Instead of carefully bombing the Piccadilly theater that houses the Zarogoth soul-gem generator, Carl dumps an entire inventory folder of explosives and weapons toward it, then tries to flee across the air toward Shanty Town.

Carl falls short, crashes onto a lower level, and climbs upward as the payload detonates. The blast destroys the generator but also activates Larracos's city defenses, damages the city, breaks infrastructure, and sends lava across upper levels. Carl ignores the consequences because Donut is trapped in the Nest tower with Lucia approaching.

On the upper level, fleeing NPCs scatter while automated defensive towers begin firing. A gale tower locks onto Carl with an Inexorable effect and pursues him with destructive blasts. Donut reports that Bomo and the others are dead and that Lucia is climbing the tower stairs, so Carl orders Donut to activate the prepared Donkey Kong defense, which turns the stairs into a ramp and sends barrels rolling down at intruders.

From Shanty Town, Carl sees Harpocrates near the town edge while the giant flesh ball approaches. Mordecai says the anti-escape trap over the Nest may be difficult to remove, and Britney reports that Juice Box is furious because Carl's attack activated the towers. Ferdinand appears despite his fear, wanting to help Donut, but Carl tells Ferdinand to stay hidden and alive. Carl summons Rend away from Larracos, uses Gloom Wraith Phase to evade the gale tower, and reaches the Nest entrance.

Inside the damaged Nest tower, Carl finds the bodies of Toyotomi, Bomo, and the defending mages. Li Na arrives with Li Jun's celestial eye installed in her own gouged-out socket and gives Carl a duplicated Hell-Kissed Potion of Conscription. Li Na says she will use the original potion on Harpocrates and then rescue Zhang, Elle, Katia, and the others from the chaos, ignoring Carl's warning that using it against a much stronger being may be lethal.

Carl climbs the oil-slick ramp while Donut's defenses slow Lucia and Gus. Lucia, in her magic-focused form, demands Mongo as justice and revenge, but Donut refuses and escalates. Donut summons Raul, who collides with Lucia and tumbles down the ramp into Carl. Raul overpowers Lucia, breaks her shield, and holds her as she pleads to stop playing. Carl rejects the horror of using the potion but decides survival requires it, then smashes the Hell-Kissed Conscription potion against Lucia's head.
