With eight minutes left before the 9th floor’s destruction, Carl prepares Samantha to distract Emberus. Carl launches Samantha toward the volcano with the xistera while Prepotente confirms Emberus sees her, then leaves through a stairwell. Carl watches the emptied pit where Larracos used to be as crawlers and allies continue fleeing, making deals, or entering stairwells.

In Katia’s tent, Carl, Donut, Elle, Imani, Louis, Rosetta, Victory, and others wait for Katia to wake. Louis mourns Juice Box leaving him and insists on saying goodbye to Katia. Victory reveals that, after deaths in orbit and political upheaval, Victory has become acting Syndicate Prime Minister, though Victory claims the office gives little real power.

Katia wakes, and Eileithyia enters the realm in a sponsored form connected to Huanxin Jinx. Huanxin, speaking through the goddess, complains about the chaos caused by Larracos arriving on the 12th floor, including Resheph’s nuns being crushed and Odette taking control of zombies. While Samantha keeps Emberus occupied, Huanxin pressures Katia to make one of three choices: increased constitution, celestial attendance, or pregnancy.

Donut springs the trap. Donut casts Laundry Day, ripping Huanxin out of the goddess’s soul armor while Eileithyia freezes because Katia has not yet chosen. Huanxin lands inside Bautista’s anti-teleport and anti-magic word circle, and Donut demonstrates her boosted power, claws away Huanxin’s shields, mounts Katia’s crossbow, and lets Mordecai load a bolt containing his mother’s ashes. Donut fires the bolt and kills Huanxin, making the execution a warning to the powers waiting on the 12th floor.

After Victory leaves, Katia says goodbye to her friends and chooses pregnancy. Eileithyia, now active, offers Katia safety in the goddess’s court, but Katia explains that pregnancy will make Katia ineligible for the dungeon and send Katia somewhere else, where endangered children need help. Eileithyia accepts this purpose, says Katia must become human again, and requires a human father; when Carl cannot be chosen, Katia asks Louis, who agrees.

Eileithyia restores Katia’s human form, revealing the hidden physical losses Katia accumulated: a missing right arm, both legs partly or fully gone, and a missing ear. Bautista brings the cybernetics Katia prepared and helps attach them. Eileithyia declares Katia pregnant with a boy, Katia becomes ineligible, says goodbye, and disappears, leaving Donut and the others grieving as the goddess fades and the boon ends.
