CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVEN: ZÉLIE
Overview
Zélie leads the Iyika to assault Lagos under storm and moonstone-fueled unity. The team devastates the city’s outer defenses by reshaping terrain, reversing majacite gas, and hurling fire. Wielding the moonstone, Zélie rips tîtán spirits from their bodies, clearing a path to the capital’s wall.
Summary
In a storm over Lagos, Zélie rallies the Iyika with dedications to their dead, igniting the moonstone tattoos that bind their twelve hearts. She orders the surge that fuses their ashê, and the power cracks earth and stills time as they descend toward the capital.
Kâmarū and Kenyon reshape the battlefield, heaving the ground upward and driving waves of lava through buried majacite mines. Explosions mushroom across the plain, collapsing Lagos’s traps and sowing chaos among defenders.
As alarms blare and tîtáns counterattack, Jahi’s winds and Imani’s Cancer magic transform drifting majacite into a deadly orange cloud that blows back over the golden soldiers, blackening their skin and breaking the charge.
The wall’s artillery opens fire, but Kâmarū halts cannonballs midair while Jahi deflects blasts and Kenyon returns firebombs. The Iyika punch through each layer until only the soldiers themselves remain to bar the approach.
Feeling every tîtán through the moonstone, Zélie reaches for their life force and commands it. At her word, the tîtáns seize and collapse as their spirits are torn free, erasing the last living barrier and bringing the Iyika face-to-face with Lagos’s wall.
