Avery wakes still fixated on Tobias Hawthorne's letter and its unexplained apology. In the suite kitchen, Oren and Alisa brief Avery on the reality of her new status: once the inheritance becomes public, Avery will be a target for paparazzi, threats, stalking, and kidnapping. Oren also plans protection for Libby when she returns.

Alisa explains that Libby is on one of Avery's private planes, retrieving both sisters' belongings so Avery can move into Hawthorne House before the deadline. The scale of Avery's inheritance continues to unsettle her, especially when Alisa casually mentions Avery's planes, helicopter, and ability to choose a new car.

As Alisa helps uproot Avery's old life, Avery quits her job and is withdrawn from school. Unable to reach Max for advice, Avery thinks about how unreal everything feels compared with sleeping in a parking lot the day before. Remembering Harry, Avery asks whether the money intended for a car could instead be used to help him, and Alisa assures her it can be handled.

Later, Avery, Alisa, and Oren go to pick up Libby from the private jet. Avery initially imagines ways the money could improve Libby's life, but the thought stops when Avery sees Libby's bruised, swollen eye. Libby refuses to discuss what happened, deflects with jokes, and insists she is fine, while Avery angrily asks whether Alisa's firm has a hit man.

Back at the hotel, the group plans to finish arrangements and leave for Hawthorne House, but Oren announces a new problem. From the balcony, Avery sees a mob outside the hotel entrance and realizes it is the paparazzi. When cameras turn upward and focus on Avery, the public consequences of her inheritance arrive sooner than expected.
