Overview
Oro defends Lightlark with newly arrived Skyling, Starling, and Moonling reinforcements sent via the portaling device, while Cleo waits for Isla’s return. Exhausted, Oro receives a vision from a silver-eyed woman revealing a legendary blade that can kill anything, hidden in a pocket of time.
The woman insists Oro must find this weapon to have any chance against Cronan, hinting he alone can reach it despite lacking the Time Threads. This sets Oro on a pivotal quest that could determine the fate of the realms.
Summary
Oro holds Lightlark’s lines as waves of creatures intensify their assault. Using the portaling device, legions of Skyling, Starling, and Moonling fighters arrive to help contain the threat. Cleo supports without hesitation, remaining nearby in hope that Isla will return. The aid eases Oro’s burden, but the attacks only grow, driving him through a sleepless night of battle.
When Oro finally rests, the silver pool returns in his mind. A silver-eyed woman addresses his avoidance and hints at a prophecy that may involve him, saying the future is split as he is. She speaks of one constant across all possible outcomes and draws his attention to the pool.
From the metallic surface rises a blade, longer than a dagger but not a sword, with a heart-shaped hilt. The woman names it a famed weapon capable of killing anyone and anything, hidden for millennia to prevent misuse. She declares it the key to peace or ruin and essential to defeating Cronan.
When Oro reaches for the hilt, the blade sinks back into the pool. The woman explains it is concealed not only in another world but also in a pocket of time, implying the Time Threads were used to hide it. Though Oro no longer has the Threads, she insists that he, perhaps alone, can still find it.
The vision ends, leaving Oro with a new, urgent objective: locate the time-hidden weapon to create any hope of overcoming Cronan, even as the siege on Lightlark escalates.
