Debbie watches Brett Carlson come to the door and deliberately makes him wait while he rings and pounds. Before opening the door, Debbie takes a box cutter from the foyer cabinet and hides it in her dress pocket, preparing in case Brett becomes dangerous.

Brett confronts Debbie furiously, accusing Debbie of entering Brett's basement and damaging the fuse box so Brett's home office has no power. Brett connects the alleged sabotage to the neighborhood noise complaints about Brett's loud music, but Debbie responds with cheerful innocence and insists Debbie does not understand electrical systems.

Debbie thinks about how easily Debbie identifies hidden keys at other people's homes, but outwardly Debbie continues to deny everything. Debbie redirects suspicion toward local teenagers, privately thinking of Zane as an example of a surly boy who might be blamed.

Brett remains suspicious but loses some certainty. Brett says Brett will install a camera after repairing the damage, and Debbie encouragingly praises the idea. Brett leaves angry and unconvinced, while Debbie maintains her polite performance.
