The safe is empty, confirming Cooper’s fear. Cooper connects the evidence: his angry argument with Ken Bryant, the missing company money, Ken’s shooting, the likelihood that Cooper’s registered gun was used, and the fingerprints Cooper left at Ken’s house. Cooper realizes Debbie is framing him for Ken’s murder.

Izzy enters the garage and asks what is happening, especially because she is worried about Debbie. Cooper hides the empty safe and tries to comfort Izzy, telling her Debbie will be okay even though Cooper does not know where Debbie is. The conversation makes Cooper think about prison, his daughters’ future, and how central Debbie has been to the family.

Cooper tells Izzy that he loves her, an unusual enough statement to alarm her further. Cooper then says he may know where to find Debbie and prepares to leave again, asking whether Izzy and Lexi can feed themselves from the groceries Debbie bought.
