CHAPTER 31: ROHAN

Rohan, Knox Landry, and Brady Daniels stake out the Thorp mansion after failing to catch Nora and learning Gigi slipped away. Savannah tracked Gigi’s phone and gained entry by flashing Calla’s necklace, but hours have passed with no contact. Rohan refuses panic, focusing instead on control and contingency.

While Knox fumes and threatens to force entry, Rohan positions himself to stop both Knox and Brady from provoking security, arguing that a scene would endanger Gigi. He catalogues liabilities and keeps his attention split between the mansion’s guardhouse and his own calculations.

Rohan replays a recent call: “You said to make you an offer. I thought you should know: We already have.” Because Nora was in custody when the call came, he suspects Calla or someone like her. He considers who has made him offers—Jameson and Savannah—fixating on Savannah’s faith in his ability to uphold a deal as she remains inside.

Planning subtle entry, Rohan contemplates using the kitten Savannah left with him as a distraction for the guard. Observing that security hasn’t spotted them thanks to the weeping willows, he edges just beyond the tree line, declaring he is reserving options rather than fully breaching, and keeps the volatile team from blowing their cover.
